The Eagle Creek Wallaby toiletry bag has served us well on long trips. Its’ 6.5L capacity is more than enough to pack all of the toiletry items we need on weeks-long trips. On short weekend getaways however, the Wallaby is under utilized and takes up precious space in our hand luggage so we went shopping for a smaller toiletry bag.
We reviewed our options and decided that the Eagle Creek Quick Trip toiletry bag fit our needs at a reasonable price. After using it on a few trips, we’ve found that the bag fits the name and we’re happy with the purchase.
At 10 x 3 x 5.5 inches (25.4 x 8 x 14 cm), it’s smaller than the Wallaby which measures 13 x 8 x 3 inches (33 x 20 x 8 cm). The smaller dimensions means the Quick Trip has a volume of 3L which is just less than half of what the Wallaby holds. The Quick Trip has less fabric, fewer zippers, no hanger hook and no mirror so it weighs 5 oz less than the Wallaby at 3 oz (85 g).
The Quick Trip is a pencil case styled toiletry bag with a center main compartment flanked by external zippered pockets along the length of the bag. One of the external pockets has a meshed panel for ventilation. The main compartment has a flat base and there’s a wide handle on one end of the bag for easy carrying.
Being part of the Pack-It Original collection, our Quick Trip is made out of a 300 denier micro poly weave fabric that has no claims of being water proof, resistant or repellent. The lining of the bag however, is promised to be stain-resistant and water-repellent. It’s the same basic fabric that’s used to make the Wallaby bag and holds the bag together well enough. It will soak up splashes of water and then it will dry off.
All 3 zippers pull smoothly.
We made a video of the Quick Trip that we published on our YouTube channel Tekuben Prime. You can visit our channel and watch there or watch the same video below:
In the video, we pack the Quick Trip to help you visualize how much the bag can hold. We hope the video helps you make a better-informed decision on whether or not the Quick Trip is the toiletry kit for you.
At the end of the video, we also visit Eagle Creek’s website to discuss the different variants of the Quick Trip bag.
Our Quick Trip is under the Original collection of bags in the Pack-It system of products. Eagle Creek makes two other Quick Trip bags that differ in the fabric used, the Pack-It Specter Quick Trip and the Pack-It Sport Quick Trip.
Since the video was published, Eagle Creek has introduced a new collection of products called the Pack-It Specter Tech, which has products made with a fabric that is more advanced than the fabric used to make products in the Pack-It Specter collection.
For those of you who may be deciding between a Wallaby or a Quick Trip toiletry kit, we made this comparison video also found on our YouTube channel Tekuben Prime:
